Skills, Professions & Magic

17.1 Primary & Secondary Magic

CategoryDetails
Primary MagicDraconic Magic
the innate fire-magic of dragons, channeled through breath weapons, scale-resonance, and rune-inscription. Exclusive to dragons and bonded Drakonians (who access a diminished form through the bond).
Secondary DisciplinesRunic Infusion (embedding runes into metal and crystal). Fire-Forging (using dragonfire as a heat source for metallurgy
a technological application, not magic per se). Celestial Resonance (star-aligned crystals amplifying fire-magic
studied jointly with the Celestial Order).
Forbidden MagicShadow-Fire (corruption of dragonfire with dark magic)
banned by the Codex of Scales. Unregulated Void-Flame
a rare, corrosive variant that dissolves matter; only the High Dragon-Lord may authorize its use.

17.3 Schools of Fire-Magic

Draconic magic is not monolithic; it encompasses several specialized schools:

  • Pyrogenesis
the art of creating and shaping flame, from a candle-sized spark to a city-engulfing firestorm. The most fundamental and widely practiced school.
  • Magmatic Sculpting
manipulation of molten rock and earth, practiced primarily by Magma Drakes and Magma-Masons. Requires immense concentration and physical proximity to volcanic sources.
  • Runic Inscription
the embedding of magical commands into physical materials through fire-etched runes. The basis of all Aurixian technology.
  • Aetheric Combustion
the most advanced and rare school, combining fire-magic with celestial aether to produce effects that transcend ordinary flames. Practiced only by Aether Drakes and a handful of gifted bonded riders.
  • Ash Divination
reading the future in patterns of falling volcanic ash. Considered unreliable by most scholars but practiced devoutly by the Ash Seers of Cindervale, a small but respected order.
