Introduction
The Drakonians are a fierce, proud race inhabiting the volcanic regions of Drakon in Landorya. Known for their mastery over fire magic, their unparalleled metallurgy, and their deep bonds with dragons, the Drakonians are a force to be reckoned with. Their mythology and religion are centered around the worship of dragons, the embodiment of strength, fire, and raw, primal energy. They believe in the virtues of courage, honor, and the relentless pursuit of power and glory.
Drakonians are skilled in metallurgy and magic. Their strengths include powerful Draconic magic, advanced metallurgy, and formidable military might. Their weaknesses include reliance on dragons, potential for internal power struggles, and diplomatic tensions with other races.
Overview of Drakonian Identity
At the heart of Drakonian identity lies the concept of "Drakhar"
a word in their ancient tongue that roughly translates to "fire-forged soul." Every Drakonian believes they carry a spark of dragonfire within them, a divine inheritance from the Dragon Gods. This belief permeates every aspect of their society: from the way they greet one another (a clenched fist pressed to the chest, over the heart where the Drakhar is said to reside) to their funeral rites (in which the body is returned to the volcano so the Drakhar may rejoin the Eternal Flame). To be Drakonian is to live by the fire, to be shaped by it, and to ultimately return to it.
Role in Landorya
The Drakonians occupy a unique and sometimes feared position among the races of Landorya. They are the primary suppliers of enchanted weapons and armor to the continent, the guardians of the dragon population, and the keepers of some of the most dangerous magical knowledge in existence. While their aggressive reputation precedes them, the stability they provide through their stewardship of dragonkind is widely acknowledged, even by their rivals. Without the Drakonians, the great dragons of Landorya would be a wild, uncontrolled force
a threat to every civilization on the continent.
