Elandril's Quest -- The Drakon's Fire
The tale recounts how the hero Elandril journeyed to the volcanic lands of Drakon, where he faced the trial of fire and smoke. Elandril, demonstrating courage and wisdom, earned the trust of a young dragon, Pyrathian, who chose to accompany him on his quest. Together, they retrieved the third fragment of the Amulet of Harmony, the Ember Shard, from the heart of a fiery mountain. This tale is often told as proof that even outsiders can earn Drakonian respect through bravery and honor.
Sir Alden Stormrider
The tale of Sir Alden Stormrider, a legendary hero of Landorya, whose destiny was written in the stars. Even as a child, Sir Alden showed a remarkable affinity for magic. Under the tutelage of the wise sorceress Seraphina, he learned to master the elements. Clad in armor imbued with the magic of ancient dragons, and armed with his enchanted sword Stormbreaker, Sir Alden set out on a perilous journey into the Bleak Forest to confront the Shadowspawn. With the aid of allies including the forest spirit Thistle and the exiled wizard Argus, Sir Alden unleashed the true extent of his power, channeling the essence of Landorya's magic to defeat the Shadowspawn and save the realm. His armor, imbued with draconic magic, stands as a testament to the far-reaching influence of Drakonian craftsmanship.
The Unbound Menagerie
A Drakonian beast-mage played a crucial role in the Unbound Menagerie crisis, when hybrid creatures created by a vanished Sylvan Elf mage escaped into the Eldar Forest. The Drakonian's deep understanding of creature magic proved essential in tracking and containing the escaped creatures, demonstrating the versatility of Drakonian magical knowledge beyond fire and forge.
The Echoes of the Ancients
A Drakonian Forge-Master was among the diverse group of allies who explored newly-risen ancient ruins in Landorya's oceans, lending metallurgical expertise to the effort to decipher the intentions of an ancient civilization that had been waiting in stasis to return.
The Nameless Hierophant
The primal power of the Drakonians is cited as one of the philosophical elements blended into the strange new teachings of the Nameless Hierophant, a mysterious figure who appeared in the deserts of Whispering Sands, preaching a philosophy that blended elements from the Scholars, the Aeriels, and the Drakonians. The Hierophant's influence on Landorya's traditional power structures remains a matter of ongoing concern.
The Ballad of Korathyn's Descent
Among the most beloved Drakonian legends is the Ballad of Korathyn's Descent, which tells how the founder of the Obsidian Order ventured alone into the deepest Ember Caverns to recover the lost Crown of Tiamat. For nine days, Korathyn descended through chambers of ever-increasing heat and peril, battling feral drakes, navigating lava rivers, and solving riddles left by Jormungandr. On the ninth day, he reached the Heartforge
a chamber of liquid fire at the very roots of the world
where he found not the Crown of Tiamat but a vision of the goddess herself. Tiamat, according to the ballad, wept tears of volcanic glass and told Korathyn that the Crown was not a physical object but the unity of the five clans itself. Korathyn returned to the surface and forged the Obsidian Crown as a symbol of this revelation, uniting the clans under one banner.
The Betrayal at Ashveil Pass
A darker tale tells of the traitor-general Mordraith Flamesworn, who during the Second Eruption War attempted to Forcebind the great dragon Auranthos in order to gain enough power to overthrow the Obsidian Order. The Forcebinding failed catastrophically: Auranthos, maddened by the attempted compulsion, razed the fortress of Ashveil Pass and killed over three hundred Drakonians before being calmed by a coalition of dragon-bonded priests. Mordraith was captured and executed by immolation, and his name was struck from all official records
though the Flame-Speakers still tell his story as a warning against the sin of Forcebinding.
